It’s a critical role for us.  You see, we take the job of being good famers very
seriously.  Sure, the outcome is producing plenty of quality milk solids.  But how
we produce those milk solids is equally important and our people and their
safety and wellbeing is at the heart of this.   Our HS Coordinator will work
alongside the Farm Supervisors and Farm Managers to ensure they have a
strong, inclusive Health and safety culture on farm, making sure that our Keep
Me Safety Health and Safety system is understood by all staff and implemented.
The HS Coordinator will be a source of motivation and inspiration across the
Group for all this Health, Safety and Wellbeing and someone who continues to
inspire the Fortuna Way, living our values and is excited to achieve our vision
and strategy.

The role will have the responsibility of ensuring that the Keep Me Safe system is
effectively implemented on farm. Working along side the Farm Manager and
their staff, this role will support, guide and get stuck in to ensure the HS
standard is meet and there is a focus on growing capability on farm to enhance
the Fortuna HS culture. We want Health, Safety and wellbeing to be something
we do at Fortuna, not something that is done to us. For us to be great farmers,
it’s is critically important that everyone (Including yourself) go home healthy and
well at the end of each day.

We expect you’ll be committed, happy to challenge our thinking, present new
ideas and always looking to implement improvements.  You’ll want to monitor,
measure and report on all things Health Safety and Wellbeing so we know how
our business is looking and understand how we can continue to grow our HS
culture.

You’ll be experienced in Health and Safety system coordination and have an
interest in making a difference in the Agri sector. You don’t have to know how
farming works, but you will need to be prepared to put on your red bands and
get stuck in.

Then there’s your knowledge.  We expect you’ll be up to date with Worksafe New
Zealand’s Health & Safety laws and regulations.  You’ll know all about compliance
issues, and have an idea of what best practice looks like.  You’ll definitely know
about how to support businesses to meet their Health and Safety standards,
incident and accident management and hazard identification.

You’ll be the type that likes to roll your sleeves up, get stuck in, challenge
yourself and think differently.  The type that’s smart, inquisitive and engaged.
You’ll be energetic and approach work with a sense of fun and a real ‘can-do’
attitude.

Above all else, you’ll be passionate.  We’re going to make some changes to
Farming and you’ll be part of it.
