Contract Milker – Jenkins Farm

Fortuna Group is on the lookout for a skilled Contract Milker to lead the operations of the newly formed bottom block of Jenkins Farm, a large-scale, 800-cow dairy operation just under an hour from Invercargill. This is your chance to manage a high-performing farm within a progressive, values-driven business.
About the Role: In this role, you’ll take full responsibility for the farm’s day-to-day operations, ensuring animal welfare, productivity, and staff development are at the heart of everything you do. Your leadership will directly influence the success of the farm and the growth of the people within your team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the Farm
- Maintaining high standards of milking, stock health, and welfare
- Leading, supporting, and developing farm staff to achieve production goals efficiently and safely
- Managing feed planning, cow condition, and pasture performance
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking someone with:
- Proven experience managing or contract milking large herds
- Strong leadership and people development skills
- A practical understanding of feed, pasture, and cow condition management
- A commitment to sustainability, animal welfare, and continuous improvement
- Confidence in operating under pressure, with excellent communication skills
